How many South Asians does it take to paint a house.....9?

So with our moving deadline of the 20th April moving closer and closer each day, our landlord has been feeling the heat of my confrontational skills (ok not really, I just ask everyday "uncle Ji- it will be ready by the 20th right?"). He has moved into full gear and has hired half the town it seems to get our house finished on time. Yesterday we picked out paint and curtains, and today we will instruct the men working where to paint. I think they think we are crazy in our color choices for paint and curtains. One lady told me "it is our culture that you have the same curtains EVERYWHERE in the house" she then proceeded to show me some curtains that looked like they were out of the seventees. I politely declined and said we wanted 4 different colors to match the paint! lol- she looked confused to say the least! Unfortunately because we are still walking to the internet cafe to do our emails, I don't have my pictures of the house and the millions of people working on it. Here are a couple of pictures of some of the surrounding areas we have visited in the past couple weeks.
Here April is standing next to our very own mango tree. It hangs over our balcony. We were told it was a mango tree, but we haven't seen any fruit on it yet! I don't know if it's old enough to bear fruit, or there is a possiblity that it's not a mango tree at all, and we just misunderstood. We are hoping to get broadband in the next couple weeks, so hopefully more pics will be on the way shortly!
