Photo Reel

So this post really doesn't have a lot of depth to it. The day we left to go to the City Beautiful to look for housing, we ate at the famous Raj Mahal restaurant, our favorite place to eat. While we were there we decided we would take lots of pictures of the upcoming weekend. So these are the pictures from our past weekend of house hunting excursion.

We decided that we would take a picture for everyday that we went house hunting, well we forgot the first day and then by the 4 day we were so discouraged we gave up!
We woke up saturday and looked at houses all morning. We found one that we liked and the others were a little old, mildewy, and had some gross bugs crawling around inside them. We decided to take a break, get some coffee, and eat lunch with some friends before heading out again. The second day we decided to call a property dealer, who had an add in the paper! Well I won't go into details, but let's just say between the fact that he a) Made us pay for a taxi to take us around and look at houses b) had to wait an hour for the taxi he called, who happened to be his friend c) only showed us one house, which was way out of our budget, before he got frustrated and tried to bully us into renting d) cheating us on more than one occasion...the list goes on....we decided to ditch him and try again on our own! SO, after seeing 12 houses and being somewhat discouraged, on day 4 we decided to just roam around the neighbourhood. Well, being a city of 3 million people, and 16km by 16km, we didn't get very far, and ended up back at another property dealer's office. Much to our surprise, this experience was MUCH better and after looking at a few more houses we were able to make our decision. To help us remember all of the houses, we gave them names, and the house we decided on is nick named the 4 Seasons, and for good reason. Our house now, which has been fine for the past year, has one bedroom, which April and I share, and we walk outside and back into the other side of the house to use the one squatty/shower, kitchen and living room area. The new house we're moving into has 3 bedrooms, with attached bathrooms, a balcony that surrounds the whole house, a HUGE kitchen with etched glass doors, built in closets in every room, and a mix between marble and hard wood floors! I almost feel a little uncomfortable moving up to such a nice house, but i'm sure i'll get used to it! ;) Here are a couple of pictures of our house, as well as our friend Brian, sporting a turban he randomly found lying around in our new home.
Ok so without realising it my room mate took a lot more pictures of our trip than I realised. I was the main dealer of business while we were in the City Beautiful. Now I know I probably look very professional with my head piece in, but the truth is, the microphone is broken on my phone, so no one can hear me talking unless I use my head phones.....OK so I just wanted to look cool. I must have called a million people to look at their houses, and it was quite exhausting, especially when you're dealing in another language. So after a very exhausting couple of days we decided to take the afternoon and explore the local art gallery. On our exit of the museum that's where we saw it....the Eiffel Tower. Only in India!!! There was a sculpture garden across the street, with lots of random, not so impressive sculptures, BUT the Eiffel Tower was definitely worth the picture!

Hey Beki! Do you remember me? Came to Miami from Jax on Spring Break one year... I was in charge of keeping you distracted while Justin and Garnet aluminum-foiled your car...remember us now???
My hubby and I (think we were dating then) are not too far away from you these days. Check out our blog! It was great to find you!

I wonder if the free turban will still be there when we officially move in???? Just think of all the fun things we can do w/ a free turban?
