The Joo (zoo)

So I have heard that there is a little village/town about an hour (25km- this takes an hour in the mountains) away from us. It is a special place of Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. There is a big lake in middle and a zoo. Well you can imagine my curiosity in going to see a village that has a zoo. I went with a friend to check it out, expecting to find a couple of cows and a goat or something, but much to my surprise I found many other things! We saw quite a few different types of dear, bears, geese, turtles, and there was supposed to be a porcupine and some peacocks as well, but we didn't see those. I was surprise at how well fed the animals were, and how much space they had. I was kind of expecting to find them in metal cages surrounded by their own feaces, but most of the animals had a large area of woodland to roam around in, as well as plenty of food.
We walked around looking at all the different animals and watched the nationals feed them and stick their hands through the bars, despite the HUGE sign at the front of the zoo that clearly states anyone caught trying to feed, or touch the animals is punichable up to a 2000rps fine, OR 6 months in jail. (perhaps the fact that the sign was in English was a stumbling block!) I Mean I didn't see too many english speakers, and I really don't think you have to worry about foreigners sticking their hands into bear cages!!!
(^^Cue picture of nationals feeding the animals! The geese just about flipped out once they started being fed^^)
When we first arrievd we went to a nearby hotel and asked where the zoo was. He looked at me and said "the joo? yes yes this way" I had never heard it pronounced with a "J" before.
