One more....

So I will only be doing one more post for the day...a) because it gets kind of tiring, trying to think of funny, yet informative things to say, and b) I have other things I need to do, and blogging actually takes quite a long time! So this may turn into a longer story....I may have told this story before to many of you (I sound like my mom. She always tells me the same story 5 timeS), so I apologise if it's a repeat! When we first moved to our house we noticed that the neighbours would sit on our roof and knit and spin wool, while they would hang out and talk. We also wanted to spend our time hanging out with them practising our language, and learning how to knit, so we asked them to teach us. We told them we wanted to make a scarf, to which they said "no, scarfs are difficult, I think you should make a muffler." Well anyone here knows that it is VERY hard to dissuade people from what they think is best for you, but I didn't know what a muffler was and I wanted to make a scarf, so I put my foot down and said "NO, I want to make a scarf, show me how to make a scarf". They finally back down and the learning began. I started and was making good progress, and was feeling like I was really learning how to knit, and about half way through I realised that my "scarf" looked absolutely NOTHING like a scarf. I also noticed that everytime they checked my progress they would hold it up to their heads! I finally asked our friend who speaks English what a scarf was in their translation to English. (Sometimes the use strange words in English, like "shifting" to mean moving etc....) She then described to us what I thought was some sort of wrap around hat! I then asked her what the thing you wrap around your neck was called, to which she said "oh that's a muffler". It all made sense. They had indeed tried to show us how to make a scarf/"muffler"/whatever you want to call it, but due to our lack of communication skills, we ended up making some kind of weird hat. April decided she would start over and make a "muffler" or scarf, but i decided it would be fun to see how this hat thing worked out! Admittedly these pictures are not the best I have ever taken, but April has not been here to be my photographer, so here is me sporting my "scarf" as well as a picture of the "muffler" I am currently making!!
