Momma has Arrived!

My momma has safely arrived! She has adjusted well to the culture and seems to really be enjoying herself. It has been fun to have her stay with us, becuase she points out things to us that seem strange in America, but are pretty everyday for us here. For example, one night, while taking a shower my mom says to April "April are you playing w/ bubble wrap? (she received a package this past week w/ bubble wrap)" to which April said nonchalantly "oh no, that noise comes from the Ants that live in our bathroom door." Everyday we see more evidence of our symbiotic neughbours, in the piles of sawdust that they leave in the bathroom. I would rather have ants live in my door than have spiders in my house. Thankfully we haven't had any "night enemies" as our land lord calls them, probably because we have to lizards that have taken up residence in our house. In America, I probably would have gone to great efforts to get the lizard out of my house. However, here they are quite useful in keeping the bug population in our home to a minimum. Lizards....a small price to pay for a bug free home!
